As a staunch advocate of free markets, these top-down corporatist initiatives are only adding fuel to the fire.  IF gov’t is to intervene in the private sector, it should encourage devolving these giants and incentivising innovation and competition.  Unfortunately, gov’t is no longer the referee of market extranalities, but rather a cheerleader of certain teams (the moral hazard of lobbyists).
